"We're never taught how to grieve" is a line from this song. I found myself thinking of that, many times, in the initial months after Sylvia "crossed-over". Not so much wondering: "Am I grieving correctly" but more of not being able to move, because of that TREMENDOUSLY-deep, Soul-piercing PAIN and thinking: "Our parents, "life" and "Society" don't prepare us for this. How can anyone endure such intense PAIN?
lyrics
SearchLight
We’re never taught
how to grieve.
Our emotions
on our sleeve.
Knowing the Love
we share…
This separation
is too MUCH too bear!
I look for your SearchLight
every day.
I check for cracks in the Veil
in every way.
I hold our Love sacred.
I hold our Life dear.
This reality has restrained me
tied up with fear.
Society says
I’ll never see you, again.
…but I know
I know there’s more to us.
…and I know
…I just know
Thanks to your Visions
I keep holding on…
So… I…
Look for your SearchLight
every day.
I check for cracks in the Veil
in every way.
I know that your SearchLight
is Guiding me.
The cracks in this Veil
will bring us
to our True, Reality.
I know that your SearchLight
is waiting there.
I search for your SearchLight
carefully aware!
I know our Love
pierces this Veil
…but this illusion
tries to restrain me…
tied me up with fear.
Society says
I’ll never see you, again.
but I know our Love
is piercing this Veil.
…and I know
… I just know
Thanks to your Visions
I keep holding on.
So… I…
Look for your SearchLight
every day.
I check for cracks in the Veil
in every way.
I know that your SearchLight
is Guiding me.
So… I…
Look for your SearchLight
every day.
