After Sylvia "crossed-over", I spent many, many months in a daze. I didn't know it at the Time. Even "now", I find it sometimes difficult to fan-away the clouds within my mind.
Many months after her "crossing", I still didn't want to start working on this album. Although it meant working even MORE closely to Sylvia, through the "Veil", it also meant re-living those beautiful memories of us being together as well as those horrible memories of our 3-weeks in hospice. The emptiness of Sylvia not being right here "physically" with me was just too much to deal with.
Eventually, however, Sylvia found a way to send me an energy of increasing urgency... that we need to start working on this album as soon as possible.
So through my still-angry, confused and disoriented State, and with me banging on my desk, I finally agree to begin pulling in the songs she would be sending me for this album.
lyrics
Dialog - The Broken Chord
(Sylvia) “It is time for us to start working on our songs.”
(Paul) “This is NOT fair! We should be together… “physically”, when we work on OUR songs.”
(Sylvia) “This is where we are now. Things will change very soon but we need to begin creating our music.”
(Paul) “We are NEVER supposed to be separated from each other! I HATE this Chapter of our LIFE!”
(Sylvia) “You can do this.”
(Paul) “I CAN’T do this… I’m a Drummer!… and not a very good one.”
(Sylvia) “You are MY Drummer and you are the best I have ever heard.”
(Paul) “I’m not a Keyboard player. There’s no way “I” can ever begin to play your 10-finger Chords. I’m not sure of the sounds you want to use… and this is a new Keyboard… I haven’t figured it out yet. This is all so overwhelming and…”
(Sylvia) “…I will help you. We will work together on this. I will work through you. “WE” can do this.”
(Paul) “Alright. Let’s do this.”
